Two Arizona Tight Ends Withdraw From Transfer Portal
While Arizona fans had a fear of losing multiple key players from their roster to Jedd Fisch at Washington, the hire of Brent Brennan has appeared to help keep the roster intact.
According to a report from Wildcat Authority’s Jason Scheer, two Arizona tight ends removed their names from the transfer portal on Monday morning with both Keyan Burnett and Dorian Thomas returning to Tucson for the 2024 season.
Burnett saw a small amount of action in 2023 under Jedd Fisch recording three catches for 34 yards while Thomas elected to redshirt.
Burnett, a 6-foot-6 sophomore from California, was listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index as well as the nation’s 232nd-ranked prospect. He also checked in as the seventh-ranked tight end in his class and the 17th-ranked player in the state of California.
Thomas, a 6-foot-5 freshman from Washington, was listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index as well as the nation’s 1159th-ranked prospect. He also checked in as the 53rd-ranked tight end is his class and the 12th-ranked player in the state of Washington.
With the duo set to return to Arizona ahead of their move to the Big 12 Conference, Brent Brennan’s squad should have a solid cast of playmakers in the middle of the field for freshman quarterback Noah Fifita to utilize in the upcoming season.
