Houston F J’Wan Roberts Available vs. BYU
Kelvin Sampson and the Houston Cougars will have one of their key members available for Tuesday night’s game against BYU with senior forward J’Wan Roberts returning from a knee injury.
According to a report from CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein, Roberts will be dressed and available for the Cougars’ sixth game in Big 12 Conference play.
Roberts has been a major contributor for the Cougars this season averaging 8.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, and two assists per game in his fourth season of college basketball. The Virgin Islands native is currently shooting 55.4% from the field and 58.3% from the charity stripe this season.
Coming out of high school, Roberts was listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index and checked in as the nation’s 153rd-ranked prospect. He also checked in as the 24th-ranked power forward in his class and the second-ranked player in the state of Texas.
Roberts’ biggest game of the season came against TCU on January 13th where he recorded 20 points, 13 rebounds, five assists, and four blocks.
Getting Roberts back on the court would be massive for the Cougars as they get set to take on the 21st-ranked BYU Cougars in Provo on Saturday, January 23rd at 8:00 PM CT.
