The Red River Rivalry remains one of the best rivalries in college sports and brings out the best, or worst, of fans’ emotions. And that was on full display on Tuesday night when Oklahoma hosted Texas on the hardwood.
As Texas was starting to pull away from the Sooners in the second half, one understandably upset OU fan decided to share her feelings with her fingers, specifically her two middle ones. But then she realized she was on camera. Oops.
Frankly, this is what college sports is all about. The passion. The emotion. The fire. But I respect this fan’s willingness to realize there might be kids accidentally seeing this, who the hand gestures may not be appropriate for.
The Texas Longhorns went on to win the game 75-60 in Norman to improve to 3-3 in conference play, with the loss dropping Oklahoma to 3-3 in the league.
UT now hits the road to BYU this Saturday, while Oklahoma hosts Texas Tech, which gives this fan a chance to redeem herself, or share her active hand gestures with the Red Raiders when they come to town this weekend.
