EA Sports College Football to Include ‘Ultimate Team’ Game Mode: Report

The upcoming EA Sports College Football video game will have an “Ultimate Team” mode similar to what we currently see in the Madden franchise, according to a report from 247Sports’ Brandon Marcello.

On Thursday, Marcello reported that the upcoming title will have some variation of the same game modes that we saw previously in NCAA Football 14, including “Road to Glory” and, obviously, “Dynasty Mode.”

However, the “Ultimate Team” mode will also be making a return, as it was featured in the game launched back in 2013, although it’s become a much-maligned talking point amongst the Madden community in the years since we’ve seen it in a college football video game.

“Much like the Madden game, there will be an ‘Ultimate Team’ mode which will include, at least the plan is, legends from college football past able to be played now and in the future,” Marcello reported on Thursday.

So, for fans of Baker Mayfield, Patrick Mahomes, Breece Hall, you might still get a chance to see your favorite players in the game after all. For so many of us, it was a travesty that the last decade’s worth of players never got to truly grace the virtual field that we all grew up on, but now it appears that might come to light for some of the top players of the past.

“[EA Sports] has been trying to secure likeness rights for some of these former players so that they can ramp up this ‘Ultimate Team’ mode, which will allow you to be playing as college football legends.”

There has been very limited information released on the game to this point, but from what we’ve learned so far, there’s a lot to be excited about. The expected release date is sometime in July, similar to the past iterations of the game.
