How To Watch Big 12 Biggest Women’s Basketball Games For Week 13

NCAA Womens Basketball: Big 12 Conference Tournament Quarterfinals-Iowa State vs West Virginia

The Big 12 women’s basketball season hits Week 13 with a full slate of games over five days this week as we enter the fifth full week of league action.

There are games on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Some teams are off, too. Kansas and TCU do not play during the week due to the bye and return to the schedule this weekend. Oddly enough, those two teams will face one another on Saturday.

Here’s the complete schedule, how to watch each game and, if you’re so inclined, the three must-watch games of the week (we’re cheating a bit again this week with four games).

Kansas State at Oklahoma; Kansas State at Texas

How to Watch: vs. Oklahoma, 6 p.m., Wednesday, ESPN+; vs. Texas, 1 p.m., Sunday, Fox Sports 1

This could be the most pivotal week in the Big 12 season. Kansas State is undefeated, but it’s only one win ahead of Oklahoma. The Wildcats will be without center Ayoka Lee and, so far, the Wildcats have made it work. KSU even went to Baylor and beat the Bears in their new building.

But, the margins are small for K-State, which means there is an opportunity for Oklahoma, which just happens to be right behind KSU. The Sooners lost to Kansas State earlier this season in Bramlage. Now, the game is in Norman and the Sooners don’t have to deal with Lee. The Sooners could force a first-place tie with a win.

Texas has three league losses and is on the outskirts of the Big 12 regular-season title race. But let’s say KSU falls to Oklahoma and Texas wins its mid-week game (more on that in a minute). Texas could change the race completely with a win on Sunday over Kansas State. That would put Texas right back in the thick of it. It would put most of the Top 5 teams in the league back in the thick of it.

And if Kansas State wins both games? Well, you can’t quite “crown them,” but the Wildcats would have at least a two-game lead with seven league games left. They would be hard to catch.

As noted, it’s a pivotal week.

Texas at Baylor

How To Watch: Thursday, 7:30 p.m., ESPN

The second matchup between the league’s traditional powers. Both have three losses in the Big 12, so the winner stays in the race for the regular-season title and the loser, in all likelihood is out. Remember — we’re entering the back half of the league slate. The runway to get back into this is getting smaller.

West Virginia at BYU

How to Watch: Saturday, 5 p.m., Big 12 Now on ESPN+

This game is really intriguing. WVU has just two league losses and is trying to stay within striking distance of Kansas State and Oklahoma. The Mountaineers may have the best press defense in the country and they are third in the nation in turnovers forced (24.94), the most of any high-major program. BYU has a collection of solid 3-point shooters and one of the most dynamic forwards you’ll watch in Lauren Gustin. The contrasts will be striking at the Marriott Center.
