Week 12 Big 12 Basketball Players of the Week Announced
With Week 12 of the college basketball season officially in the books, the Big 12 Conference announced two players that would be taking home the 12th iteration of the Big 12 Basketball Weekly Awards for the 2023-24 season.
TCU‘s Emanuel Miller took home the title for Big 12 Player of the Week while Texas Tech‘s Chance McMillian claimed Big 12 Newcomer of the Week honors.
TCU forward Emanuel Miller earned the title of Big 12 Player of the Week after back-to-back impressive performances against Oklahoma State and No. 15 Baylor. Miller led the Horned Frogs to a 2-0 record during the stretch all while averaging 21 points, eight rebounds, and three assists in back-to-back road wins. The senior forward recorded his first double-double of the season against Oklahoma State totaling an impressive 21 points and 11 rebounds in 40 minutes of action. One of the wildest stats of the week for Miller, the Ontario native played 93 of 95 minutes for TCU and recorded just two fouls in the stretch, according to the official release.
Texas Tech guard Chance McMillian had an outstanding week of basketball totaling a career-high 27 points and eight rebounds against No. 11 Oklahoma. The California native was nails from the field going 10-of-13 overall, and 6-for-8 from three-point land. McMillian enters Week 13 with 858 career points scored and will have a good chance at crossing the 1000-point threshold later this season.
