The Houston Cougars took the court at home against Oklahoma State on Monday night, and with UH leading by 20 points early in the second half, head coach Kelvin Sampson unloaded on the officials and got ejected from the game.
Here’s what it looked like when Sampson was sent to an early exit.
Sampson seemed to get upset after a no-call on a push-off of Jamal Shead. Kelvin Sampson had to be restrained before he walked off the court to the locker room. Sampson received a standing ovation and left to chants of “Kel-vin Samp-son!” from the Houston faithful.
The Cougars would go on to win the game 79-63 with Shead leading the way with 23 points, while Emmanuel Sharp dropped 16 on the night.
For Houston, it’s a bounce-back win after losing at Kansas on Saturday 78-65. But the win gives the Cougars a temporary 1.5-game lead in the Big 12, pending the outcome of multiple games on Tuesday night.
The Cougars are back in action on Saturday when they take on Cincinnati on the road at 3:00pm CST on ESPN2.
