Watch: Kansas Fan Drains Halfcourt Shot on First Attempt to Win $19,000

NCAA Basketball: West Virginia at Kansas

While the Kansas Jayhawks may hit some big shots against Baylor in a massive Big 12 matchup on Saturday evening, Kansas fan Ellie McCarville may have hit the biggest shot of the day.

McCarville was asked to take the half-court shot during ESPN’s College GameDay broadcast, and while she was given 20 seconds on the clock to hit the $19,000 shot, all she needed was one shot.

The crowd in attendance at Allen Fieldhouse erupted after McCarville swished the shot and in her interview with Reece Davis following the electric highlight, Ellie gave the fans some juice to carry over into Saturday’s game against No. 13 Baylor.

“Rock Chalk! Let’s go get this dub today,” McCarville shouted. “I had a feeling it was going in. When you shoot a half-court shot you get a feeling. I had that feeling. You all said don’t watch it, but I knew, I felt it.”

While Ellie McCarville stole the show ahead of one of Kansas’ biggest games of the season, Bill Self and the Jayhawks will have a shot to hit some big shots of their own on Saturday, February 10th at 5:00 PM CT on ESPN.
