No. 3 Houston Leads Six Big 12 Teams in Latest Men’s AP Poll
Six Big 12 teams were among the nation’s best as the Associated Press Men’s Basketball Top 25 was released after the season’s 14th week of games.
The Big 12 ranked teams included:
Houston at No. 3 (No. 5 last week);
Kansas at No. 6 (No. 4 last week);
Iowa State at No. 10 (No. 14 last week)
Baylor at No. 12 (No. 13 last week);
BYU at No. 19 (No. 21 last week);
Oklahoma at No. 25 (dropped out of the Top 25 last week).
Texas Tech dropped out (No. 23 last week)
Houston (21-3, 8-3) won both of its games last week, defeating Oklahoma State, 79-63, and Cincinnati, 67-62. The Cougars have a mid-week bye before they host Texas on Saturday.
Kansas (19-5, 7-4) lost to Kansas State in overtime, 75-70, but bounced back to beat Baylor, 64-61, at home. The Jayhawks are at Texas Tech on Monday and Oklahoma on Saturday.
Iowa State (18-5, 7-3) won both of its games last week, defeated Texas, 70-65, and TCU, 71-59. The Cyclones have won five of their last six entering this week where they travel to Cincinnati on Tuesday and host Texas Tech on Saturday.
Baylor (17-6, 6-4) Baylor split last week, defeating Texas Tech, 79-73, and falling to Kansas, 64-61. Baylor is at home against Oklahoma on Tuesday and then on the road at West Virginia on Saturday.
BYU (17-6, 5-5) split last week, falling to Oklahoma, 82-66, and then beating Kansas State, 72-66. The Cougars host UCF on Tuesday and then travel to Oklahoma State on Saturday.
Oklahoma (18-6, 6-5) won both of its games last week, defeated BYU, 82-66, and Oklahoma State, 66-62. The Sooners are at Baylor on Tuesday and host Kansas on Saturday.
Texas Tech (17-6, 6-4) fell to Baylor, 79-73, and then broke a three-game losing streak by beating UCF, 66-59. Tech is at home against Kansas on Monday and then on the road at Iowa State on Saturday.
