2024 Top 15 Prospect Derik Queen Lists Two Big 12 Teams in Final Four
Top 2024 prospect Derik Queen updated his cutdown list to four on Tuesday morning which featured two teams from the Big 12 Conference.
Queen included both the Kansas Jayhawks and the Houston Cougars on his list as well as Maryland and Indiana.
Queen, a 6-foot-10, 240-pound center from Montverde High School, is one of three remaining uncommitted players in the Class of 2024’s Top 50 prospects. Queen received offers from 15 different programs including Arizona, Oklahoma State, Texas, West Virginia, and many more, but has decided to attend college at one of the four programs listed above.
Coming out of Monteverde High School, Derik Queen is listed as a five-star prospect by the 247Sports index and currently checks in as the nation’s 12th-ranked prospect. He is also listed as the third-ranked center in his class and the second-ranked player in the state of Florida.
Should Queen commit to Kansas, he would join one of the nation’s top-ranked recruiting classes that features a combination of three top 50 players. The Jayhawks earned commitments from five-star center Flory Bidunga, four-star point guard Labaron Philon, and four-star shooting guard Rakease Passmore.
Should Queen wind up at Houston, he would become the Cougars top-ranked prospect in the Class of 2024 joining four-star small forward Chase McCarty and four-star combo guard Mercy Miller.
