Report: EA Sports to Depict “New” Booth Memorial Stadium in Upcoming CFB Video Game
EA Sports College Football 25 is set to drop this summer, well before Kansas football’s new $448 million stadium renovations are completed and ready to use.
However, that won’t stop Jayhawks fans from seeing their team play in the reimagined home for KU football.
While Kansas will play its 2024 scheduled home games at Children’s Mercy Park and Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, EA Sports will reportedly leap into the future to show KU fans what the 2025 season might look like.
According to Extra Points’ Matt Brown, EA Sports plans to depict the “new Booth Memorial Stadium” in their upcoming title release this summer.
In a recent interview with Jason Booker, the Deputy AD for External Affairs and Revenue Generation at KU, Brown got an answer for how Kansas and EA will tackle their unique situation.
“Booker told me that in addition to sending photos, uniforms, audio assets, rivalry game information, and other requested IP to EA Sports, they were also able to use renderings of what the stadium should look like after the renovations are completed, and also sent those videos and renderings to EA,” Brown writes.
“But for this summer…the stadium won’t be completely finished, Kansas hopes that it’ll at least be in the game.”
Using renderings and concert art to build a 3D model of the new-look David Booth Memorial Stadium likely won’t be an easy task. Still, EA Sports is doing everything that it can to make its resurrected title feel as genuine as possible, and this is a big step in doing that for an up-and-coming program in the Big 12.
