Dick Vitale: ‘NO DOUBT the Big 12 is the Nation’s No. 1 Conference’
The Big 12 Conference is unbelievable baby! Well, at least in the eyes of legendary broadcaster Dick Vitale.
Vitale took to social media on Friday afternoon to dub the Big 12 Conference the, “No. 1 basketball conference in the nation” and mentioned that the league features multiple teams capable of winning a National Championship.
Vitale became the most recent sports personality to chime in on the incredible level of play in the Big 12 joining the likes of Jay Bilas, Fran Fraschilla, Jay Williams, and many more.
With the Big 12 Conference featuring an impressive ten teams in the latest Bracketology Update from ESPN’s Joe Lunardi, it’s not hard to see why the league stands alone at the top of college basketball. Ten teams were listed as tournament participants with Houston, Kansas, Baylor, Iowa State, Oklahoma, BYU, Texas Tech, Texas, TCU, and Cincinnati all being mentioned in the update.
Kansas State and UCF both find themselves just outside the tournament field, and in the event that one of the two get invited to March Madness, the league would tie the Big East’s 11-bid record in 2024.
As conference play continues to heat up in the Big 12, more and more individuals around the nation are taking notice of the competitive nature of the conference which puts the league in a league of its own.
