Oklahoma Down Two Key Pieces vs. Kansas

Oklahoma men's basketball coach Porter Moser.

Porter Moser and the Oklahoma Sooners will have a tough task on Saturday facing off against the No. 6 Kansas Jayhawks without the assistance of two of their key players.

Head coach Porter Moser announced that the team will be missing senior guard Rivaldo Soares and junior forward John Hugley for the Sooners’ 13th game in conference play.

Both Soares and Hugley have been solid pieces for the Sooners this season as both are averaging upwards of eight points per game. Hugley is averaging 8.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.2 assists while Soares averages eight points, five rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game.

Coming out of high school, Hugley was listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index as well as the nation’s 99th-ranked prospect. Soares, a former three-star prospect, checked in as the nation’s seventh-ranked JUCO prospect.

With both Hugley and Soares inactive against the Jayhawks, Porter Moser’s group will have to get back on track without two of their top playmakers after dropping Tuesday’s game against the No. 12 Baylor Bears.
