Lance Leipold and the Kansas Jayhawks have lost a third assistant coach this offseason with the Tennessee Titans electing to hire offensive line coach Scott Fuchs.

Fuchs joins the likes of offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki and co-defensive coordinator Jordan Peterson in coaches departing Lawrence as he gets set to join the Titans in an offensive assistant role.

Fuchs is a big loss for the Jayhawks as the former OL coach has been with Lance Leipold since his time at Buffalo. During 31 years in coaching, Fuchs has made stops with North Dakota State, Valley City State, Wisconsin-Eau Claire, Minnesota-Crookston, Nebraska-Omaha, Grand Valley State, Southern Illinois, Wyoming, Buffalo, and Kansas.

Fuchs was an instrumental part of the turnaround in Lawrence as the offensive line depth at Kansas rose to new heights under Fuchs. The Jayhawks offense put up some staggering numbers in 2023 with the offensive line helping contribute to the fifth-most total yards per game (446.1), fourth-most rushing yards per game (206), and the fourth-most points per game (34.9).

The Jayhawks will now have a new spot to fill ahead of the 2024 season, and after wrapping up both the search for a new OC and a new co-defensive coordinator, Leipold should have all eyes focused on bringing in a new OL coach.
