Big 12 On Verge of 10 Teams in NCAA Tournament in Latest Bracketology

NCAA Basketball: Iowa State at Cincinnati

With just a few weeks left of conference play in the Big 12, ESPN’s latest bracketology update features nine teams from the league earning an invite to the 2024 NCAA Tournament, with one team appearing in the “First Four Out.”

The nine teams listed as tournament participants are (1) Houston, (2) Kansas, (3) Baylor, (3) Iowa State, (6) BYU, (6) Texas Tech, (8) Oklahoma, (8) Texas, and (9) TCU.

Meanwhile, Cincinnati joins Providence, Utah, and Wake Forest as the first four teams to be left out.

With the Big 12 Conference continuing to provide opportunities for Quad 1 wins with every matchup, the league has a great chance to put more teams in the tournament than any other conference in the nation.

Of the 10 teams mentioned in the update, the group currently holds a collective record of 187-68 (.733).

Here’s what each Big 12 team’s opening-round matchup in the NCAA Tournament looks like in Joe Lunardi’s latest update.

(1) Houston vs. (16) Sam Houston

(2) Kansas vs. (15) E. Washington
