Look: EA Sports Confirms All 134 FBS Teams Will be in College Football 25
If you are one of the millions of people anticipating EA Sports’ upcoming College Football 25 video game, Thursday morning has provided some exciting news for you.
EA Sports announced on Thursday that it will have all 134 FBS football programs included in the game when it launches this summer.
The game’s highest-profile holdout, Notre Dame, announced that it would be a part of the game on Tuesday, essentially breaking down the final bridge for all teams to be included.
And of course, the company had to make sure and announce the news in a unique and exciting way, releasing this post on social media Thursday morning.
This is a huge accomplishment for EA, who is striving to provide a realistic and immersive experience for college football fans and will now have the opportunity to provide an experience for every single college football fan at the FBS level.
Add to that the expectation that the vast majority of active college football players are expected to opt in to the game, and we have the makings of something truly exciting for fans of the series.
According to a report from Extra Points’ publisher Matt Brown, EA Sports started sending out NIL contracts to over 11,000 student-athletes on Thursday morning.
The contracts, which will allow EA to use the athletes’ name, image, and likeness in the upcoming College Football 25 video game, have a base value of $600 per athlete and will also provide them with a free copy of the game. Brown also reports that EA will offer additional ambassador contracts to a select number of college football players, who will be paid to promote the video game on social media.
This update puts College Football 25 one step closer to being ready for release in July, with athlete’s direct involvement being one of the most speculated parts of the game. However, EA has been confident since announcing the game’s return that it would work out, and now they’ve reached the final stages of putting all the pieces together.
EA Sports released a teaser trailer for the game last Thursday, sending college football and video game fans alike into a frenzy. College Football 25 is expected to be released sometime in July and will be the first licensed college football video game since the release of NCAA Football 14, which was released in 2013.
