Sonny Dykes and the TCU Horned Frogs added a new name to the Class of 2025 with the commitment of three-star wide receiver Ed Small.

Small elected to choose the Horned Frogs over offers from nine different schools, including Texas Tech, Houston, Baylor, Arizona State, and more.

Coming out of Anderson High School, Small is listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index and currently checks in as the nation’s 416th-ranked prospect. He was also listed as the 37th-ranked receiver in his class and the 45th-ranked player in the state of Texas.

Small, a three-sport athlete who plays football, baseball, and track, originally committed to Texas in January of 2022 to play baseball for David Pierce. He then realized that he was more interested in pursuing Division 1 football and went on to de-commit from Texas in January 2024, two years later.

In two seasons at Anderson, Small recorded some impressive numbers. The Texas native posted 127 grabs for 2,286 yards and 34 touchdowns in 20 games played from 2022-2023.

With his commitment, Small became the Horned Frogs’ fourth addition in the Class of 2025, joining four-star QB Ty Hawkins, three-star WR Chance Ables, and three-star ATH Chris Jimerson Jr.

Small and the rest of TCU’s future commits will have an opportunity to see their future team take the field on Friday, August 30th, as the team kicks off the 2024 season against Stanford.
