Watch: Kansas State INF Danniel Rivera Lands No. 2 Play on Sportscenter Top 10
Kansas State infielder Danniel Rivera made one of the best plays of the weekend on Friday night against Holy Cross, which earned him the No. 2 spot on the Sportcenter Top 10.
Rivera gave Kansas State a one-run lead over Holy Cross after jumping the pitch from sophomore Jaden Wywoda and stealing home for the Wildcats.
Rivera’s run came in the bottom of the third inning with the bases loaded, two outs down, and the game tied 6-6. Rivera made the play and gave the Wildcats a 7-6 lead, which contributed to one of 17 scored runs in Kansas State’s home opener.
In addition to the highlight play, Rivera added some impressive stats in the batter’s box. The Connecticut native went 2-3 with one RBI and one walk in the contest. With the win, Pete Hughes’ squad advanced to 3-2 with wins over Boston College, Georgetown, and Holy Cross.
