Kansas State Sets Division 1 Record for Overtime Wins in a Season

The Kansas State Wildcats blew a 25-point lead against West Virginia and had to hang on in overtime, but in the process set a college basketball record.

According to ESPN Stats & Info, Kansas State’s seventh overtime win on Monday night set a Division I record for overtime wins in a single season.

 

The Wildcats are 12-0 under Jerome Tang in overtime during his first two seasons on the job.

On Monday night, it was Kansas State beating West Virginia 94-90 to win their second straight game and keep their hopes alive of making the NCAA Tournament.

Kansas State also has overtime wins this season against Providence, Oral Roberts, North Alabama, Villanova, Baylor and Kansas.

With the win, the Wildcats are 17-11 overall and 7-8 in league play. On Saturday, the Cats play Cincinnati in what could end up being an elimination game for the NCAA Tournament.
