Bubble Watch: Kansas State Remains in ‘Next Four Out’ in Latest Bracketology

NCAA Basketball: West Virginia at Kansas State

The NCAA Tournament is just a few weeks away at this point, and it won’t be long before we’re refreshing timelines religiously to see what the 68-team field looks like.

Every few days, ESPN’s Joe Lunardi gives an update on his bracket projections, better known as Bracketology, and he’s been very high on the Big 12.

In his latest projection, there are nine Big 12 teams in the tournament, leading all conferences for the most projected selections.

However, there’s a chance the league could see even more teams in the field, as Kansas State is one of 16 teams clinging to hope on the bubble.

On Monday, Lunardi listed Kansas State as one of the “Next Four Out” teams just a few hours before the Wildcats would add another victory to their list, a 94-90 win over West Virginia.

Now, in Thursday’s update, K-State remains among the “Next Four,” along with Texas A&M, Iowa, Ole Miss, and Kansas State.

K-State needs to pick up a few more wins to feel good about their chances of getting into the tournament, but it won’t be easy.

The Wildcats are on the road at Cincinnati on Saturday but have a road trip to No. 7 Kansas next Tuesday and will finish their season hosting the eighth-ranked Iowa State Cyclones to end the regular season.

The Wildcats and Bearcats will tip at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, with the broadcast on ESPN+.
