Josh Eilert Discusses Potentially Coaching Last Game at WVU Coliseum
While the writing has been on the wall for the majority of the season surrounding West Virginia moving on from Josh Eilert as head coach, Eilert spoke on the opportunity of potentially coaching his last game inside of WVU Coliseum.
Instead of sulking or giving some played out message, Eilert responded with positivity and respect for the opportunity and plans to meet the challenge head on.
“I’m not going to put too much thought into that,” Eilert said. “I’m going to live in the present. I’m going to go out there with a smile on my face.”
West Virginia finishes out their home schedule on Wednesday, March 6th, with an opportuntity to take down an NCAA Tournament team, the TCU Horned Frogs. While West Virginia’s record has not been great on paper, they have found a way to record some impressive wins at home this season. The team took down three NCAA Tournament teams all in the Top 50 of the NET rankings in Texas, No. 14 Kansas, and Cincinnati.
Wednesday will be the second meeting between TCU and WVU, and with Jamie Dixon’s squad taking home the first game 81-65 in Ft. Worth, West Virginia will have a shot at revenge on their home court. While the future of Josh Eilert and the Mountaineers is still up in the air, closing out the home schedule with a win is always a great way to go out.
