FOX College Football Games Moving To Friday Nights In 2024
According to a press release from the network, FOX Sports will begin airing college football games on Friday nights in 2024 with a special package of “elite” games.
The new primetime slate of games will feature matchups from the Big Ten, Big 12, and Mountain West conferences, giving the network a chance to host a primetime event for three consecutive days.
According to the release, FOX has claimed the most-watched regular season game of the year in the Big Noon Saturday window for three consecutive years and also reports great ratings with FOX NFL’s America’s Game of the Week on Sunday.
“FOX is football, and our new Friday night package will make FOX the leader in America’s game throughout the weekend,” said Michael Mulvihill, President, Insight and Analytics, FOX Corporation.
“We’ve built our collegiate business by seizing opportunities in previously underutilized timeslots, first with BIG NOON SATURDAY and now on Friday nights. Our goal this fall is to have the No. 1 college football game on both Fridays and Saturdays and the top NFL game on Sundays.”
FOX Sports says its 2024 college football schedule – including the new Friday night package – and broadcaster lineup will be released at a later date.
The Big 12 currently has six games that could flex to be played on Friday nights, while there are four games that are locked in for Friday night kicks. Here’s a quick look at that list.
