Tylor Perry Says Kansas State is ‘Absolutely’ an NCAA Tournament Team
The Kansas State Wildcats beat the Texas Longhorns on Wednesday night in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. With the victory, the Cats are still in the conversation for the NCAA Tournament.
After the win, K-State guard Tylor Perry told reporter John Kurtz that the Wildcats are “absolutely” an NCAA Tournament team. Perry went on to say, “I’ve felt like that all year. I know we’ve had ups and downs, but if people went through what we went through this year, losing Glover and Tomlin, a lot of people would have quit. But to have the coaching staff we do and the kind of camaraderie we do to keep going and keep pushing, I absolutely do, and think we can do damage in the tournament.”
In the most recent Joe Lunardi bracketology, Kansas State had some work to do, listed as the 9th team out of the NCAA Tournament, heading into the Big 12 Tournament. The Big 12 currently has nine teams in the NCAA Tournament, the most of any conference in the country, per Lunardi.
The Wildcats shot back into tournament consideration following a major upset over the sixth-ranked Iowa State Cyclones in the season finale last Saturday. And now for the Wildcats, they’re back in an all-to-familiar spot, getting set to take on Iowa State on Thursday night in the Big 12 Tournament quarterfinals.
The two teams will tip off at 6:00 p.m. CST from the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
