Former Ohio State TE Sam Hart Transfers to Colorado

NCAA Football: Arizona at Colorado

Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes are adding a new name to their roster this offseason with the addition of former Ohio State tight end Sam Hart.

Hart, a native of Aurora, Colorado, announced his decision to return to his home state on social media after spending the previous three seasons with the Buckeyes.

While Hart did not record any catches during his career as a Buckeye, the Colorado native saw action against Toledo, Wisconsin, Rutgers, Indiana, and in the College Football Playoffs vs. the Georgia Bulldogs. The marketing major is a two-time OSU Scholar-Athlete and an Academic All-Big Ten Conference honoree in 2023.

Coming out of Cherokee Trail High School in the Class of 2021, Hart was listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 388th-ranked prospect. He also checked in as the 15th-ranked tight end in his class and the third-ranked player in the state of Colorado.

Colorado was one of 21 programs that offered Hart a scholarship in 2021, and despite his decision to team up with Ryan Day at OSU, the Colorado native will return home in the 2024 season as a member of the Big 12 Conference.
