Baylor Bears Receive No. 3 Seed in 2024 NCAA Tournament
The 2024 NCAA Tournament selection committee has given the Baylor Bears the No. 3 seed in the West Regional.
Baylor will take on No. 14 Colgate on Friday in Memphis. Colgate is in the NCAA Tournament for the fourth straight season, dating back to 2021. The winner will play either No. 6 seed Clemson or No. 11 seed New Mexico.
The Bears are fresh off a run to the Big 12 Tournament Semifinal Game, where they ended up losing 76-62 to 2-seed Iowa State. Baylor earned a three-seed after a regular season that included some impressive wins and a conference record of 11-7.
Baylor finished the regular season with a 23-10 record, including a 11-7 record in Big 12 play.
Baylor earned a 3-seed in the 2023 NCAA Tournament last season but was upset in the Round of 32 by 6-seed Creighton Blue Jays, 85-76.
The Bears are led by senior guard RayJ Dennis, who averaged 13.3 points, 6.8 assists, and 3.8 rebounds per game this season. He was one of five members of the league named to the All-Big 12 Second Team alongside L.J. Cryer, Keshon Gilbert, Emanuel Miller, and Max Abmas.
Baylor has made 15 NCAA Tournament appearances while reaching four Final Fours, plus one National Championship in 2021. The Bears have an overall record of 22-15 in March Madness.
