Baylor’s Langston Love Being Evaluated Ahead of NCAA Tournament
The 64-team field in the 2024 NCAA Tournament will begin play on Thursday, March 21, kicking off college basketball’s biggest event of the year.
Teams across the country hope to hit their stride in March, giving them their best chance at winning their way to a national championship. The Baylor Bears are one of those teams, and as a three-seed in this year’s tournament, they have a pretty favorable first-round matchup against 14-seed Colgate.
However, the availability of one of their top players could be a deciding factor in whether the Bears move on or get booted with a first-round upset.
Baylor is one of the best betting values to make the Final Four (+800), but much of that value rides on guard Langston Love being healthy. Love has played in just one game since February 21 and averages 11 points off the bench for Scott Drew’s squad. A lingering knee injury has kept Love from contributing as of late, but BU is hopeful that some time off has prepared him to make a run in the tournament.
According to a report from Jon Rothstein, Love is being evaluated after practice this week to determine whether he’ll be able to go.
As things stand, Baylor is favored by 13.5 points over Colgate in their first-round tilt on Friday. Tip is scheduled for 11:40 a.m. CT on truTV.
