Kansas State Guard Cam Carter to Enter Transfer Portal
Kansas State is set to lose one of its top scorers with Cam Carter set to enter the transfer portal, according to Joe Tipton of On3 Sports.
Carter transferred to Kansas State after the 2022 season where he saw the starting lineup in just four games, averaging just 2.2 points per game. But this past year, Carter blossomed in his junior season, averaging 14.6 points per game, which was second to Tylor Perry in scoring. Carter also averaged 5.0 rebounds per game and 2.1 assists per game.
Kansas State reached the Elite 8 last season before losing to FAU. This season, Kansas State missed the NCAA tournament in Carter’s second season, then fell in the opening round of the NIT to 3 seed Iowa.
In the final game of the season, Carter was in the starting lineup and played 28 minutes. Carter scored 13 points on 5-of-14 shooting and went 1-of-6 from beyond the arc.
K-State will lose guard Tylor Perry and Will McNair from this year’s roster due to eligibility. Meantime, David N’Guessan has another year of eligibility and Ques Glover could return after suffering an injury.
