Kansas State G Dorian Finister Enters Transfer Portal
According to a report from 247Sports’ Travis Branham, Kansas State guard Dorian Finister is officially entering the transfer portal.
Finister was the first high school prospect to commit to joining Jerome Tang in Manhattan after being hired to replace Bruce Webber in 2022-23.
Finister chose the Wildcats over offers from 12 different programs, including Houston, Texas A&M, Tulane, UTEP, and more. While the Louisianna native saw action in just 19 games as a redshirt freshman, Finister averaged 2.8 points and 2.3 rebounds per game on 39.6% shooting from the field.
Coming out of Carver High School in the Class of 2022, Finister was listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 227th-ranked player. He also checked in as the 33rd-ranked shooting guard in the country and the second-ranked player from the state of Louisiana.
With the announcement, Tang and his staff have now lost two players to the portal, with junior guard Cam Carter announcing his decision to enter on Thursday afternoon. The Wildcats will now have two players to replace this offseason, but with the transfer portal shaping up to be one of the busiest cycles in recent history, Tang and the Wildcats should have some options available.
