Oklahoma G Otega Oweh Enters Transfer Portal
Porter Moser and the Oklahoma Sooners are losing a key roster member, sophomore guard Otega Oweh, who entered his name into the transfer portal on Monday.
Oweh started 27 games for Oklahoma this season and 37 in his career. The news was first reported by On3’s Joe Tipton.
Oweh spent two seasons with the Sooners from 2022-2024 and is coming off his best season as a Sooner in 2023-24. The New Jersey native posted 11.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, and one assist per game on 49.3% shooting from the field. His best game of the season came against North Carolina on December 20th, where he recorded 23 points, five rebounds, two steals and one assist.
Coming out of Blair Academy in the Class of 2021, Oweh was listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 70th-ranked prospect. He also checked in as the fifth-ranked shooting guard in his class and the second-ranked player in the state of New Jersey.
Oklahoma will now have a new spot to fill ahead of the 2024-25 season. Still, with this offseason shaping up to include one of the busiest portal cycles in college basketball history, Porter Moser should have some options available for replacement.
