Analyzing Kansas State Betting Futures for Football, Baseball
My DraftKings account balance has gradually increased during the last week or so, thanks to some bets on the NCAA tournament. I lost some bets, but I’ve won a little bit more than I’ve lost. I don’t bet a lot of money. I do it for the fun of it, and it gives me someone, or something, to root for in games that I normally wouldn’t care about. Having a little skin in the game makes watching the tournament more fun than it otherwise might be.
As I was browsing through my DraftKings account, I looked at the futures bets on K-State sports in both DraftKings and FanDuel to see if any of the lines were compelling. I saw a couple that are interesting, so thought I’d break them down in my column this week.
Kansas State Football 2024 Win Total: 9.5 Wins (FanDuel)
Over: +114 (Bet $10.00, Win $11.40)
Under: -140 (Bet $10.00, Win $7.14)
Vegas thinks the 2024 K-State football team is more likely to hit the under on the 9.5-win number. If you put a gun to my head, I’d bet the over, but I’m staying away from this one for now.
K-State Big 12 championship game winner: +350. Bet $10 to win $35.

Win 2024 Big 12 Championship: +350 (Bet $10.00, Win $35.00)
This might be worth a small wager. K-State and Utah have the best odds to get to the Big 12 championship game. Both are at +350. KU has the next-best odds at +650.
Kansas State Football College Football Playoff Odds (FanDuel)
Win CFP Championship: +6000 (Bet $10.00, Win $600.00)
Anyone betting this is taking a huge flier. I don’t think K-State gets anywhere close to the national championship game this year. 18 teams have equal or better odds to win it. Georgia has the best odds at +300.
Make College Football Playoff: +290 (Bet $10.00, Win $29.00)
Miss College Football Playoff: -385 (Bet $10.00, Win $2.60)
Putting 10 dollars down to win $2.60 doesn’t seem worth the effort, but putting a little bit down in the hopes that K-State makes the College Football Playoff does.

20 teams have equal or better odds than K-State. If you’re going to bet on K-State to win the national championship, it’s better to do it here than on FanDuel.
Kansas State Football Heisman Odds (DraftKings)
Avery Johnson to Win Heisman: +3500 (Bet $10.00, Win $350.00)
15 players have equal or better odds of winning the Heisman than K-State quarterback Avery Johnson. The best odds go to Carson Beck of Georgia and Quinn Ewers of Texas, both of which are +900. This one might be worth taking a chance on if you think K-State is going to go undefeated on the season, win the Big 12, and make the College Football Playoff. I’d at least put a buck on it, but Avery might have a better chance at the Heisman in 2025.

Win 2024 College World Series: +13000 (Bet $10.00, Win $1,300.00)
This one looks intriguing. K-State baseball is ranked 23rd in the country and sits atop the Big 12 standings right now. 43 teams have equal or better odds than the K-State baseball team to win the College World Series. Sure, it’s a long shot, but you never know what may happen. The Bat Cats look to be pretty good this season!
