UCF Four-Star Basketball Commit KJ Greene Re-Opens Recruitment
Johnny Dawkins and the UCF Knights are losing a key prospect in the Class of 2024 with four-star combo guard KJ Greene electing to re-open his recruitment.
Greene initially chose the Knights over offers from 22 different programs, including Cincinnati, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Missouri, Tulane, and more.
Coming out of Pace Academy in the Class of 2024, Greene is listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 92nd-ranked player. He also checked in as the 23rd-ranked combo guard in his class and the ninth-ranked player in the state of Georgia.
With his decommitment from UCF, the Knights are left without any high school signees in the Class of 2024. The team added a valuable player in January, with former Memphis guard Mikey Williams electing to enter his name into the transfer portal despite not suiting up for action under Penny Hardaway.
UCF will now have a new spot to fill ahead of the 2024-25 season. Still, with this offseason shaping up to include one of the busiest portal cycles in college basketball history, Johnny Dawkins should have some options available for replacement.
