Barstool Sports’ Big Cat Calls for Duke to Vacate Houston Win
Barstool Sports’ Dan “Big Cat” Katz is a man of the people. And as a man of the people, Katz is using his platform to call for the Duke Blue Devils to vacate their Sweet 16 win over Houston.
Katz called into the Mark Titus Show to voice his opinion and stated that Duke should vacate the win due to Jamal Shead’s injury keeping the Cougars out of the Elite Eight.
“Live from my basketball headquarters, we’re in the situation room, I wanted to provide an update,” Katz said. “Duke fans know basketball better than anyone in the world. They’re pure basketball fans. And Duke fans, I’m calling on them tonight to vacate this win.”
The ankle injury to All-American guard Jamal Shead has quickly become one of the most talked about topics in the 2024 NCAA Tournament. Shead’s injury proved to be too much for Houston to overcome, and it narrowly lost to Duke in the Sweet 16.
“There’s no way they would have won this game if Jamal Shead doesn’t get hurt,” Katz said. “They need to vacate this win tonight before we all go to bed. We need to vacate this win. Duke fans, stand up; I know you have it in you. You should not accept this win; you should go home to Durham, and you should let Houston play the next game. This is what’s right. This is what America needs so vacate the win, and then we will go on with our tournament without Duke. That is what we need to do.”
While the idea of vacating Duke’s win to allow Houston a second shot at an NCAA title may sound like a fun idea in theory, unfortunately for both the Cougars and the Big 12 Conference, Houston’s March Madness run is over. Duke will take on the NC State Wolfpack with a chance to advance to the Final Four on Sunday, March 31st, at 4:05 p.m.
