K.J. Adams Announces Return to Kansas in 2024-25
Bill Self and the Kansas Jayhawks are getting back a key piece of their 2023-24 roster with senior forward K.J. Adams announcing his plans to return to Kansas.
Adams took to social media on Tuesday and released a post with a short and simple announcement that reads, “Never was leaving.”
Adams, a 6-foot-7 forward from Texas, was named an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention in 2023-24, averaging 12.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game on 60.1% shooting from the field. With his announcement, Adams is expected to become one of the last of a dying breed in college athletics, a four-year member of one team.
The Texas native committed to Bill Self in the Class of 2021, and is now set to take the court as a fourth-year member of the Jayhawks. Coming out of Westlake High School, Adams was listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 75th-ranked player. He also checked in as the 17th-ranked player at his position and the fifth-ranked player in the state of Texas.
With his announcement, Adams became the first NBA prospect of the Jayhawks’ 2023-24 squad to announce his return to Lawrence. Kansas fans will now eagerly await a decision from senior center Hunter Dickinson and senior guard Dajuan Harris, despite several reports mentioning Harris being highly-likely to return.
