Jerome Tang Releases Video Confirming He’s Staying at Kansas State

NCAA Basketball: NCAA Tournament East Regional Practice

After a heart-stopping 12 hours for Kansas State fans, head basketball coach Jerome Tang released a video on social media announcing his commitment to remain with the Wildcats.

Reports started surfacing early on Friday that Tang was a finalist for the Arkansas opening. And as the day went on, reports stated that Tang became the top target for the Razorbacks after Chris Beard elected to stay at Ole Miss.

But in the early evening on Friday, Tang released the following video.

In September, Tang signed a new seven-year, $23.1 million extension, however it was a tumultuous 2023-24 campaign, which followed a near-perfect opening season that included a run to the Elite 8. But head-butting with University President Richard Linton, most prominently around the departure of former player Nae’qwan Tomlin, appeared to sour the relationship between Tang and the University.

This past season, the Wildcats ended up missing the NCAA Tournament and then lost in the opening round of the NIT to Iowa. But with Tang electing to remain in Manhattan, Kansas State fans can breath a sigh of relief heading into the weekend.
