Kansas State Listed in Final Three for UNC Greensboro Transfer Mikael Brown-Jones

NCAA Basketball: Kansas at Kansas State

Jerome Tang and the Kansas State Wildcats are looking to make a second big splash in the transfer portal this offseason with the addition of UNC Greensboro’s Mikael Brown-Jones.

Brown-Jones shared his updated cutdown list with On3’s Joe Tipton, which features three teams: Kansas State, Pittsburgh, and Ole Miss.

Brown-Jones is coming off a massive year at UNC Greensboro in 2023-24, averaging 18.9 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game on 54% shooting from the floor. In addition to his impressive scoring numbers, Brown-Jones was one of the best shooters in the Summit League last season and shot a blistering 43.1% from three-point land.

Coming out of High School, the 6-foot-8 power forward was listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index, the 52nd-ranked player at his position, and the 23rd-ranked player in the state of Florida. Four seasons later, the Florida native was listed as the 15th-ranked player in the On3 Industry Transfer Portal Rankings.

Kansas State made a significant addition prior to the start of the dead period on April 4th by bringing in Michigan transfer guard Dug McDaniel through the transfer portal. While Jerome Tang and the Wildcats narrowly missed the NCAA Tournament in 2024, Kansas State’s coaching staff is taking extensive precautions to avoid that reality from happening again in 2024-25.
