Underage Nebraska Volleyball Player Harper Murray Cited With DUI

NCAA Womens Volleyball: Omaha at Nebraska

Nebraska volleyball player Harper Murray was cited for driving under the influence on Friday morning.

Lincoln police said around 12:45 a.m., officers saw a 2024 Audi SUV breaking traffic laws. Police conducted a traffic stop and found Harper Murray, 19, who they suspect was driving under the influence.

Police said a breath test showed her blood alcohol content was at .169, which is twice the legal limit. Police also found a fake ID in her possession. Murray was cited for DUI, careless driving, and minor in possession, along with other charges.

Murray was second on the team with 3.23 kills per set this season and had a .237 hitting percentage to go with 2.07 digs per set and a team-high 36 service aces. Also, the freshman finished the season with the highest kills per set average by a Husker freshman since Kadie Rolfzen in 2013.

Murray was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year this past season and was also named to the All-Big Ten First Team, AVCA All-Region Team and AVCA All-America Third Team.

A Nebraska spokesperson claimed the school is aware of the situation, but had no further comment at the time.
