Kansas State Assistant Confirms Report Jerome Tang and Family Love Kansas State
After a major scare regarding Kansas State head basketball coach Jerome Tang possibly leaving the program for Arkansas, the Wildcats weathered the storm and retained their coach.
With many fans wondering what kept Tang in Manhattan, Kansas State assistant coach Jareem Dowling confirmed a report from the Field of 68’s Jeff Goodman, which discussed how much the Wildcats’ coaching staff loves Kansas State.
Jeff Goodman discussed a potential rumor regarding Arkansas dealing with a potential post-season ban due to academic progress rates. According to the NCAA’s website, “the APR, or Academic Progress Rate, holds institutions accountable for the academic progress of their student-athletes through a team-based metric that accounts for the eligibility and retention of each student-athlete for each academic term.”
The saga heated up between Tang and the Razorbacks until Kansas State offered a contract extension to Jerome Tang, which included some new clauses regarding university control in roster management.
Tang now shifts his focus back to the transfer portal, with Kansas State looking to rebuild their roster ahead of the 2024-25 season. The team has already added one player in the portal, Michigan guard Dug McDaniel, and was recently listed in a top three cutdown list for UNC Greensboro forward Mikael Brown-Jones, who was named to the All-Summit League First Team.
