Baylor Freshman Yves Missi to Enter 2024 NBA Draft

Baylor freshman center Yves Missi (21) points back after scoring against Kansas in the first half of the game Saturday, February 10, 2024 inside Allen Fieldhouse.

Standout Baylor freshman Yves Missi will reportedly forego the remainder of his college eligibility and enter the 2024 NBA Draft.

According to Jonathan Givony, Missi told ESPN on Wednesday that he is hiring an agent and declaring for the 2024 draft. “I intend to enter the 2024 NBA draft, and I am looking forward to the process,” Missi told Givony via text message. “I’m hiring Wasserman as an agency, and I am all in!”

Missi ranks as the No. 20 ranked prospect in ESPN’s NBA Draft projections after earning Big 12 All-Freshman and All-Defensive honors in his lone season with the Bears. In 2023-24, Missi averaged 10.8 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks on an average of 23 minutes per game.

Listed at 6-foot-11, Missi has incredible athleticism and explosiveness for a player of his stature and uses his length well to both attack and defend the rim.

“NBA teams will be able to see in the pre-draft process how fast I’m learning, especially since I’m new to the game,” Missi told ESPN. “They will see my ability to shoot and ball-handling, which is something they didn’t necessarily see much of this year.”

Missi is expected to be joined by fellow Baylor standout Ja’Kobe Walter as another player who could hear their name called very early on in the 2024 NBA Draft. Together, the pair provided Baylor with one of the most impressive freshmen duos in the country, but it appears that they might both go one-and-done under Scott Drew.

The 2024 NBA Draft will be held in New York City on June 26-27, with the first round taking place at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, New York.
