Scott Drew ‘In Negotiations’ With Kentucky: Report

According to Adam Zagoria of New York Times Sports and Forbes Sports, the Kentucky Wildcats and Scott Drew are “in negotiations” to hire him as the next head coach in Lexington.

Drew has been the primary candidate to replace John Calipari since he resigned and took the job at Arkansas earlier this week.

The odds of Drew landing the UK job seemed to improve dramatically on Wednesday after his family was seen coming back from a trip to the Bluegrass State.

Darby Brown from KWTX reported on Wednesday evening that a plane coming from Lexington landed in Temple, Texas, around 7:30 pm. Drew didn’t exit the plane, but other members of his family did.

Reports surfaced on Wednesday that Kentucky intended to meet with Drew in the “near future,” and from then on, the flight trackers have been going.

Now, following the report that Drew is in negotiations with the Wildcats, it appears that a decision will be made soon, leaving Baylor and many other programs wondering how the Bears will pivot if he does leave Waco.
