Houston F Ja’Vier Francis Returning for 2024-25 Season

The Houston Cougars received another piece of good news on Friday afternoon, with junior forward Ja’Vier Francis announcing he would be returning for the 2024-25 season.

Francis shared his announcement on his social media pages.

With the news, Houston has officially returned four starters and some crucial depth from last season, during which the Cougars won the regular-season Big 12 Title and were awarded a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. The news comes two days after Emanuel Sharp announced he would be returning for his junior season with the Cougars.

Francis was inserted into the starting lineup down the stretch due to multiple injuries at the forward position. The Louisiana native averaged 6.0 points per game and 5.2 rebounds per game during the 2023-24 season. His best game of the season came in the second round of the Big 12 Tournament when he posted 12 points, nine rebounds, and three blocks against Texas Tech in their 82-59 win.

The junior forward will now return to Houston for a fourth season under Kelvin Sampson after committing to join the team in the Class of 2021.
