Texas Forward Kadin Shedrick Returning to Longhorns in 2024-25

NCAA Basketball: Houston Christian at Texas

Rodney Terry and the Texas Longhorns received some good news on Saturday morning, with senior forward Kadin Shedrick announcing his return to the Longhorns for the 2024-25 season.

Shedrick committed to the Longhorns in the transfer portal last season after spending the previous three seasons under Tony Bennett at Virginia.

Shedrick was a major addition in the 2023 offseason and provided some reliable depth behind First-Team All-Big 12 forward Dylan Disu. With Disu graduating, Shedrick now has a path to starting in 2024-25. In the three seasons prior to transferring to Texas, Shedrick averaged 5.2 points and 3.7 rebounds per game on 60.4% shooting from the field.

The North Carolina native averaged 7.7 points per game and 3.0 rebounds per game during the 2023-24 season. His best game of the season came in the Big East-Big 12 Battle against Louisville on November 19th, where he recorded 27 points, seven rebounds, three steals, one block, and one assist.

Shedrick will be a major piece in the Longhorns’ move to the SEC, and if the team can build around their impressive forward, Texas could quickly become a team to watch in the SEC.
