Mike Gundy and the Oklahoma State Cowboys added a new name to the Class of 2025 with the addition of three-star wide receiver Royal Capell.

Capell chose the Cowboys over offers from 14 different programs, including Baylor, Cincinnati, Houston, Missouri, Oklahoma, Oregon, and more.

Coming out of Steele High School in the Class of 2025, Capell is listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 587th-ranked prospect. He also checks in as the 90th-ranked player at his position and the 101st-ranked player in the state of Texas.

“Ever since they came to the school,” Capell told On3’s Chad Simmons when the Cowboys moved up his list. “Coach Gundy came here personally the week after I officially got offered by Coach Dunn. And that was just a big thing to me with the head coach coming here. That means they’re pretty interested.”

With his commitment, Capell became the Cowboys’ sixth addition to the Class of 2025, joining an impressive cast of athletes. Capell joins five other three-star prospects in the class, including WR Kameron Powell, WR Matrail Lopez, OT Jaylan Beckley, Edge Kyle Keya, and OT Ryker Haff.

Royal Capell and the rest of the future Cowboys will have the opportunity to watch their team take the field against South Dakota State on Saturday, August 31st.
