Cincinnati DT Derrick Shepard Enters Transfer Portal

Cincinnati‘s Derrick Shepard has announced his intentions to enter the transfer portal on Tuesday.

Wallace has been with the Bearcats for two seasons after electing to commit to the team in 2022.

In his two season at UC, Shepard recorded four total tackles.

Coming out of Archbishop Alter High School in the Class of 2022, Shepard was listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 384th-ranked player. He also checked in as the 50th-ranked player at his position and the 14th-ranked player in the state of Ohio.

Wallace will hit the portal with four years of eligibility remaining after suiting up in limited games in 2023.

Shepard was an impressive high school prospect in his class and received offers from 19 different programs. The Ohio native chose the Bearcats over offers from Iowa State, Florida State, Michigan, Nebraska, Purdue, Virginia, and more.

Cincinnati will now have a new hole to fill ahead of the 2024 season, but with the spring transfer portal open until April 30th, Scott Satterfield should have some options available for replacement.
