After announcing his decision to enter the transfer portal on March 20th, Rutgers center Clifford Omoruyi remains one of the biggest names available this offseason.

Omoruyi revealed a cutdown list of 12 teams that he would be focusing on, which included two teams from the Big 12 Conference, Kansas State and Baylor.

Clifford Omoruyi generated interest from a number of teams in the transfer portal this offseason after posting some incredible numbers during his senior season. The senior center averaged nearly a double-double, with 10.4 points and 8.3 rebounds per game in his fourth season of college basketball.

Coming out of high school in the Class of 2020, Omoruyi was listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 51st-ranked player. He also checked in as the 12th-ranked player at his position and the fifth-ranked player in the state of New Jersey.

Baylor and Kansas State are both in need of a starting big man at the five spots as Baylor lost Yves Missi to the NBA Draft and Kansas State lost Will McNair to graduation.

North Carolina, UCLA, Georgia Tech, Georgetown, Alabama, Oregon, Washington, Georgia, St. John’s, and Mississippi State are joining the Big 12 duo in the list of contending teams for Omoruyi’s talents.
