TCU Starting Defensive Lineman Damonic Williams to Enter Transfer Portal

One of the best players in the Big 12 is set to enter the transfer portal as TCU defensive tackle Damonic Williams will look for opportunity elsewhere, according to Chris Hummer of 247Sports.

Williams, listed at 6-foot-2, 320 pounds, is a sophomore who started 15 games in his freshman season for the Frogs in 2022.

After recording 27 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks that year, he was named True Freshman All-American (247Sports), Freshman All-American (College Football News), and Honorable Mention Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Year.

In 2023, Willaims started all 12 games for the Horned Frogs and finished the year with 33 tackles, 5.0 tackles for loss, and 3.0 sacks, earning honorable mention All-Big 12 honors once again.

Williams was listed as a four-star prospect out of high school, ranking as the No. 39 DL and No. 34 player in the state of California in 2022.

Although his name isn’t officially in the portal just yet, Williams will immediately become one of the most coveted targets in the nation with his combination of size and productivity.

Williams is TCU’s first portal entry of the spring window, and leaves a big hole in the middle of a defense that struggled mightily last season as it is.
