Baylor Cancels Spring Game Due to Inclement Weather

Baylor Athletics announced on Thursday that it has canceled the scheduled Spring Game set for Saturday at McClane Stadium due to a high chance of seven thunderstorms in the area.

In a press release, Baylor says it will hold its final spring practice of the season on Saturday at the Allison Indoor Practice Facility.

Unfortunately, that practice will be closed to the public due to limited space availability and ongoing construction for the Fudge Football Development Center and the Allison Facility.

Baylor is the second Big 12 team to announce the cancellation of its spring game this weekend, as Texas Tech did the same on Thursday afternoon.

Texas Tech says that, as of Thursday morning, the National Weather Service forecasts project a better than 80% chance of rain in the Midland area, with a possibility of lightning beginning early Saturday morning—during many of Texas Tech’s pregame festivities—and lasting until late that afternoon. The chances rise to 90% at the time of the scheduled 1:00 p.m. kickoff.

With both Baylor and Texas Tech opting to cancel their spring games, Iowa State remains the only Big 12 school that will play on Saturday, with the Cyclones scheduled to kickoff around 12:00 p.m.
