SEC School Becomes One to Watch to Land Arizona State QB Jaden Rashada

Arizona State quarterback Jaden Rashada (5) throws a pass against Arizona during the third quarter at Mountain America Stadium in Tempe on Nov. 25, 2023.

On Thursday evening, Arizona State saw former four-star quarterback Jaden Rashada enter the transfer portal as he searches for a new home after spending a season in Tempe, Arizona.

Rashada posted a message to social media thanking his Arizona State teammates and coaches and saying that he is “seeking the best fit for my career.”

According to 247Sports, Rashada ranked as the No. 6 quarterback and No. 44 overall player in the Class of 2023.

Now, entering the portal, he’ll once again be among the most coveted players in the nation and it appears that a national title contender from the SEC is interested in his services.

“Multiple sources have indicated Georgia is a school to watch,” 247Sports’ Chris Hummer and Matt Zenitz wrote. “The Bulldogs have tried adding more depth to their QB room for much of the offseason, and going to Athens would provide Rashada a runway to sit and learn for a year behind established starter Carson Beck.

If Rashada were to end up at Georgia, it’d be a situation very akin to Dante Moore, a fellow 2023 recruit, picking Oregon and choosing to sit and learn behind Dillion Gabriel for a year.”

The former top-100 recruit has four years of eligibility remaining after opening last season as the starter but missing most of the year with a knee injury.

He played in three games, finishing with 485 passing yards, four touchdowns, three interceptions, while rushing for 23 yards.

The 6-foot-4, 185-pound Rashada missed spring practice with the Sun Devils following offseason thumb surgery.
