Cincinnati LB Dorian Jones Enters Transfer Portal

Scott Satterfield and the Cincinnati Bearcats are losing a key defensive player to the transfer portal, with senior linebacker Dorian Jones departing the program.

Jones spent the first three years of his career at Louisville before electing to transfer to Cincinnati in 2022.

“I thank God for blessing me with the opportunity to play the sport I love and do it at this level,” Jones said in a statement. “I also want to give thanks to my family for supporting me and guiding me with my decision.”

Jones thanked players, coaches, and fans in his message before concluding his thoughts by saying, “I will cherish all the great times and people I met here. With that being said, I am entering my name in the transfer portal as a grad transfer with one year of eligibility left.”

Coming out of American Heritage High School in the Class of 2019, Jones was listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 889th-ranked player. He also was listed as the 38th-ranked player at his position and the 114th-ranked player in the state of Florida.

In total, Jones finished his time at Cincinnati with 56 total tackles, two pass breakups, one sack, and one interception.
