Cormani McClain sent some shots toward his former team on Sunday in a recent YouTube video titled “Next Step.”

McClain recently elected to enter the transfer portal and depart Colorado in search of a new home. In the video, McClain used some choice words to refer to his former team.

McClain spoke about his next steps in the process and mentioned that he plans to “Change the narrative surrounding my name and be a part of a real and great program that’s going to impact me to the best of my ability.”

“I feel like I just don’t want to play for clicks,” McClain said. “I actually want to be involved with a great leading program that’s going to develop players.”

McClain’s words seemed to suggest his disappointment in the player development happening in Boulder. Head coach Deion Sanders recently spoke on the decision to leave and provided an update on what McClain’s future looks like.

“I’m always in prayer for young men, and I want the best for them,” Sanders told DNVR Sports. “I pray to God that he goes to a program that challenges him as well as holds him accountable, and develops him as a young man. Unfortunately, we weren’t the program that could accomplish that. So prayerfully, he understands that this is his second go-around and gets it. Go get it, man. Because he has a tremendous amount of talent, but he has to want it.”

McClain has heard from 11 different programs since entering the portal and will be one of the biggest names available in the spring portal window.
