Baylor’s Jalen Bridges Enters NBA Draft

NCAA Basketball: Baylor at Central Florida

Baylor forward Jalen Bridges officially declared for the 2024 NBA Draft on Monday afternoon, putting an end to the speculation of a possible return.

The senior transfer spent two seasons at Baylor, racking up 775 points, 390 rebounds, 85 assists, and 67 steals.

Prior to that, Bridges spent two seasons with West Virginia, where he was a solid contributor for the Mountaineers. As a sophomore in 2021-22, Bridges posted 8.4 points and 4.8 rebounds per game in Morgantown.

In his announcement post, Bridges thanked both Baylor and West Virginia for his time at each respective program over the past four years.

“First and foremost, I want to thank my lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for blessing me with the ability to play the game I love. I want to thank my family and friends for always being there for me through it all,” Bridges said in the statement.

“I want to thank Coach Drew and the entire coaching staff, my teammates, and all of the Baylor fans for their support throughout my time in Waco. I would also like to thank Coach Huggins, his former staff, and all my teammates at West Virginia.”

“I’m very grateful to have had the opportunity to build relationships that I’ll cherish forever and for such an amazing program. It’s truly amazing how this ball can take you places you’ve literally dreamed of and place people in your life to guide and shape you along your journey.”

“After much prayer and consideration, I’m blessed to announce that I have decided to enter my name into the 2024 NBA Draft. I look forward to what the future holds for me. Thank you for all the love and support.”

The 2024 NBA Draft gets underway on Wednesday, June 26th.
